Hamden Road Dogs

HYHA's Offering for Full Ice Mites

Hamden Road Dogs (Full Ice Mites)

Established in 2022, the Hamden Road Dogs program serves as an advanced developmental pathway for 08U Mite players prepared to transition to full-ice hockey. Operating alongside Hamden Youth Hockey Association’s (HYHA) Mite Program this initiative is tailored for athletes seeking to enhance their full-ice hockey awareness in preparation for advancing to 10U Squirt teams or higher-level Mite programs.

The Road Dogs program offers a structured 10-20 game schedule, emphasizing critical skills such as positioning and transitional play, which are challenging to develop in cross-ice formats. This focused curriculum is designed to foster comprehensive hockey development and readiness for competitive play.
